The Social Side

So, what should you expect If you've just joined your university club? Definitely a few good nights out and a few heavy mornings in the first few weeks of term. Each club has their favourites from pub crawls and pub golf to the three pint challenge, the traditional ultimate drinking game. The results of which are shown in The Social Side section of the site. Most clubs organise socials throughout the year so if you want to join a club for the drinking you couldn't do any better than Ultimate!

Once you start attending tournaments you'll experience the best part of the Ultimate Social Side. Each tournament has a party on Saturday night, after having played Ultimate all Day, where everyone lets off a bit of steam! If it's your first tournament you'll notice the standard of Ultimate drop slightly early on Sunday morning. You might think this strange but it's pretty much the same at every tournament the world over.

Since the three pint challenge is quintessential to Ultimate that is what I shall concentrate on here, as will you a few times in the coming weeks.

The Three Pint Challenge

In a nutshell it is a challenge for a team of two people to finish a disc full of beer through straws! The disc hold exactly three pints, hence the name. Although it may be wise to get someone to pour the last half pint in after you have started to avoid spillage.

For the purposes of this site I have set out a few very brief rules in the Social Side section with a Top 10 chart that will be constantly updated, so make your club proud!

So for the first few weeks save your energy on the field for the nights out and try and break into the 2001-2 season Top 10.
